For many, the simple way to describe David Beckham is a perfect gentleman who rose from the lowliest of places to a height many can only dream. He is a retired football player who played for major clubs around the world including Manchester United and the French giant club Paris Saint-Germain as well as the England national team. David Beckham Biography

Becks, as he is mostly known by fans around the world, was born David Robert Joseph Beckham in Leytonstone, London on 2 May 1975. He was raised by a father (David Edward Alan Beckham) who was a kitchen fitter and a mother (Sandra Georgina) who was a hairdresser.

David began playing football at a very early age and when he was asked by teachers at  Chase Lane Primary School what he wanted becoming when he grew up, he would always say a footballer even when they asked him to name a regular job. Beckham later attended  Chingford County High School.

With parents that were fanatical supporters of Manchester United, David automatically came to love the club. He attended one of the football schools of former English legendary midfielder, Bobby Charlton and was later coached by his father at a local youth team, Ridgeway Rovers. He was also coached by Stuart Underwood and Steve Kirby.

Beckham had his youth playing career at Ridgeway Rovers from 1985 to 1987 and then he moved to Tottenham Hotspur. He also played for Brimsdown Rovers and then from 1991 to 1992, he played for United’s youth team.

He began his senior career playing for the Red Devils in 1992. 11 years, 265 appearances, and 62 goals later, he moved to Real Madrid where he registered 13 goals in his 4 years and 116 appearances. From there, he moved to the MLS where he played for LA Galaxy until 2012. While there, he was loaned to AC Millan. In 2013, he moved to France where he played for Paris Saint-Germain and retired after only 10 games.

Regarded as one of the greatest midfielders the world of football has ever seen, he played in four of the five major European leagues and for some of the biggest teams in the world. More so, he has won the Champions League with Manchester United and also 6 Premier League titles. With Madrid, he won a La Liga title, while he also won 2 MLS cups with LA Galaxy and a Ligue 1 with PSG. He also has many individual awards to his name.

In the English colors, David Beckham played for the England Under-18 team and the Under-21 team. In 1996, he was invited to play for the Three Lions, with which he remained until 2009 when he retired. During his spell with the senior national team, Becks appeared in 115 games and scored 17 goals.

Before meeting Victoria Adams, Beckham first saw the former Spice Girl on TV and he told former teammate and friend Gary Neville that she was the woman he was going to marry. In 1997, they met at a charity event and soon afterward, the two began dating.

In July 1999, David Beckham got married to Victoria Beckham in Ireland with Gary Neville as the best man. Before tying the knot, Becks and Posh Spice had their first child together, Brooklyn Beckham who was born on 4 March 1999. The infant was the ring bearer.
