Dr. Adams’ Horrifying Secrets
2002 - Dr. Adams’ ex-girlfriend, Deborah Pratt, seek a restraining order, claiming, “Defendant has an unfortunate drinking problem and unless restrained immediately, will assert the worst side of his ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ personality when he is intoxicated.” Dr. Adams filed papers denying the allegations but the judge granted the restraining order.
September 2002 - He was arrested after his vehicle lost control and hit a parked car. At the time, the good doc told officers on the scene that he lost control of his car when another vehicle failed to stop for a traffic signal. He was unable to provide a description of that car.
November 24, 2005 - A lawsuit was filled by Teana Lucas, who is an aspiring model and actress, a patient of Dr. Jan Adams who claims that he got her drunk after surgery, had intercourse with her and got her pregnant.
According to the suit, after the procedure, he started making house calls to her home. The suit alleges Dr. Adams told her she should get dressed and that he was taking her out for dinner. After three glasses of wine, the heavily-medicated plaintiff claims she was “heavily intoxicated.” That’s when, according to the suit, Dr. Adams took her to his house and had sexual intercourse with her.
Lucas claims she became pregnant and Dr. Adams wanted her to keep the baby but she didn’t. Eventually, she says Dr. Adams referred her to an OB/GYN who could “take care of the problem.”
August 2005 - In a suit filed in Orange County Superior Court, Jana Beighle claims she went in for “a left breast capsulectomy.” She says Adams was her doctor, and she was never told he “had an undisclosed history of medical malpractice claims and judgments.” The suit claims after the surgery in August, 2005, Beighle suffered from fluid collection and had to have her implants removed.
December 2005 - According to the suit, filed in Orange County Superior Court, Hovey claims Adams and the others “negligently failed to possess and exercise, in both diagnosis and treatment, that reasonable degree of knowledge and skill that is ordinarily possessed and exercised by other physicians and surgeons …”
The suit claims the defendants “failed to give the plaintiff proper preoperative and postoperative follow up care … ” resulting in a “postoperative infection” that caused her to undergo two surgeries to remove sutures and revise her scar.
The suit claims Adams made a “false assertion that he was a board certified plastic surgeon” and she relied on that representation in choosing him.
March 31, 2006 - Dr. Adams was arrested and booked, after pleading no contest to DUI. This was his second drunk driving conviction. He was stopped after driving excess the posted speed limit. Dr. Adams at the time do not have a valid California driver’s license and had strong odor of alchohol. Who then failed a series of field sobriety test.
April 10, 2007 - The Medical Board of California filed legal papers last April asking to revoke or suspend Dr. Jan Adams’ medical license because he was convicted of multiple DUIs, one in 2006, another in 2003.
In the accusation, the Executive Director of the Medical Board states Adams “has used alcohol to the extent or in such a manner as to be dangerous or injurious to himself and others…”
We’ve also uncovered two malpractice judgments against Dr. Adams from 2001. One for $217,337 and the other for $250,000.
June 27, 2007 - The lawsuit was filled in Orange County Superior Court, claiming medical malpractice against Dr. Jan Adams. Terrie Cage claims, Dr. Adams and another doctor “negligently and carelessly examined, diagnosed, cared for, treated and performed surgery upon plaintiff, failing to follow the standard care …” As a result, Cage alleges she was “rendered sick, sore, lame and disabled.”
November, 2007 - Began the operation Friday morning and finished Friday evening which lasted eight hours - twice as long as it should have. He then sent Ms. West home, rather than to a recovery center, which, would have been appropriate.
Several doctors at Centinela Hospital where West was taken, tell TMZ they believe the excessive amount of time it took to perform the procedure strongly suggests either something went wrong during the operation or the doctor was just too inexperienced.
She was pronounced dead later that night.

On July 12, 2005 my 15year old daughter went in for a rhinoplasty to revise the tip of her nose.
After surgery she was not able to breath for several moths. He kept on saying that it was normal and it needed a year to heal.
I took her in for a 2nd and 3rd opinion and found out that she had 7 collapses in her nose! He also didn’t have an operative report, so god knows what he did during what was supposed to have been a simple procedure.
My daughter had a second surgery to correct what he did. Unfortunatley, she is still having problems with breathing and her nose does not look good at all. I now have to take her in for a 3rd surgery.
I picked this Doctor, based on what I saw on The Discovery Channel and other daytime talk shows. I have tried several times to contact Discovery Health to no avail. I know the 1 year mark is passed for a malpracticer law suit. But hopefully, some one will read this and realize that Doctors do lie and will do any thing for a buck.
If there is an attorney out there that thinks my daughter has a case, please email me.
