Chris Daughtry: American Idol in State of Decline

Chris Daughtry who recently dominated at the American Music Awards says that the Idol franchise is starting to lose it. Daughtry came in fourth in the 2006 season of American Idol but went on to sell 3.6 million copies of his debut record.
Chris bashed the Idol in his recent interview with Rolling Stone.
“I feel like it’s definitely lacking some credibility at this point,” says Daughtry. “It’s in a state of decline and if they don’t do something about it, it’s probably not gonna last too much longer. I’m sure that’ll be used against me, but that’s the truth, you know?”
Three top Idols Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee have recently lost their record contracts due to poor sales.
“People get tired of seeing people that suck,” he says. “It’s funny at first, but come on. They spend three weeks on people that can’t sing, and that’s what they’re banking it on. [They should] find some people that you can really invest in.”

Daughtry has turned into a big-headed, arrogant ex-Idol contestant. Just because he sold millions of his album, does not mean the likes of Hicks, Studdard. and Mcphee are less talented. It’s just a matter of timing ang good opportunities for these orther Idol talents to shine. One day, Daughtry is going to fall..and it’s gonna be a real hard one!
Chris Daughtry’s arrogance amazes me. He should be thanking AI instead of dissing them. He would have gone nowhere without Idol.
i heard chris during the 5th season tour. it couldn’t be helped. when he began yelling into the mike, i fled for the lobby. he was equally loud and one-tonal out there where others had escaped. i do admire his ability with the eyeliner brush, mascara wand, and jewelry excess. oh yes, and his graciousness and modesty.
