According to WENN Madonna was left disappointed after her 50th birthday celebrations on Saturday when several of her guests failed to turn up.

The Holiday hitmaker hosted a lavish party at the exclusive Volstead nightclub in London’s West End.

It was attended by many of the star’s family and friends - but Madonna was allegedly upset about the no-shows.

She reportedly told guests, “I’m really disappointed.

“There are a lot of people who are not here tonight, but thanks to everyone who did make it.”

The singer’s daughter, Lourdes, played a song from hit musical Fame on a grand piano at the club and husband Guy Ritchie presented the pop star with GBP250,000 worth of jewellery.

Sian Lloyd Dresses Up As Madonna

Posted on July 8, 2008 1:23am · Filed under: Beauty Buzz

The weathergirl Sian Lloyd celebrated her 50th birthday on 3rd July by dressing up like pop-star Madonna. Sian posed in a raunchy leather outfit and felt excellent.

She exclusively told Hello! magazine,” Madonna is an iconic woman and I admire her for the way she constantly reinvents herself.”I have never had a fear of middle age. I didn’t have it at 40 and I certainly don’t at 50.”

“It is meant to be a milestone but I have no sense of anticipation at all. I want to look good at my age, not for my age.”

“That’s why I would never have a facelift. I have a low pain threshold but, apart from that, I don’t want to look surgically enhanced.”

“Working in my business, you see all these wind-tunnel face-lifts and people Botoxed up to the eyeballs and it looks so false.”

“I don’t hanker after my 20s and 30s, and now my 40s. I have never felt old in my life and never will.”

“Like most women I am terribly body-conscious and prone to the odd body crisis, my knees are more Maradona than Madonna but I have learnt to live with them.”

Lloyd want to look natural not like some Barbie doll, she says,”I aspire to be like the French women. They don’t go for the Barbie doll plastic look, with the breast surgery, nose jobs, veneered teeth and false nails. Look at Carla Bruni – she would rather die than look like that.”

Madonna’s Interview With ABC in Cannes

Madonna in Cannes Film Festival

Madonna’s revealing and in-depth one on one interview with ABC News’ Cynthia McFadden in Cannes was aired on Nightline on Thursday.

Here are some of what Madonna said during the chat:

On Turning 50:
McFadden: Is it just a number? Most women will not say how much they weigh. My age doesn’t bother me. My weight I would never tell. Do you care about it as a number?
Madonna: If I didn’t feel good and wasn’t doing what I wanted to do with my life maybe that would bother me. But I feel good about what I’m doing. I feel like in a way it’s given me a feeling of accomplishment for living this long and to still be able to do what I want to do and feel as good as I do. It’s a blessing.
McFadden: Do you have a birthday wish?
Madonna: No. I don’t. I’m not thinking about my birthday? Why’s everyone rushing me over the finish line?
McFadden: Oh, because we have you here to torture.
Madonna: No, I’m not thinking about my birthday. I’m thinking about what I’m going to eat for dinner tonight. That’s my future plan.

On her looks:
Madonna: I don’t look at old pictures of myself.
McFadden: You don’t? From the old days?
Madonna: I don’t look at pictures of myself from last week. Once I’ve approved of them, they’re gone.
McFadden: So you don’t feel any competition with the Madonna of old?
Madonna: I like the way I look better now.
McFadden: What do you like better?
Madonna: My thighs aren’t as chubby. I’m not kidding. I’m being perfectly honest with you.
McFadden: You say in one of the lyrics on your new album, “I feel beautiful when I’m dancing.”
Madonna: Yeah, I have been dancing a lot lately. That’s probably why I like my thighs better.
McFadden: But do you feel beautiful the rest of the time too or not? How do you see yourself?
Madonna: I see myself as practical and handsome and useful. I don’t think of myself as a great beauty. But I think of myself as stylish.

On Working with Justin Timberlake and Pharell on her new album:
McFadden: You beat Elvis’ record. More songs in the top ten than any other…
Madonna: Yeah! That’s the record to beat.
McFadden: You hear something like that, and what do you think?
Madonna: Then I go back to work.
That’s my reaction. Not that I am going to rest on my laurels, but now I really have to do even better. I think that’s why I decided to do this record with Justin Timberlake, and Pharell. Because they have strong personalities. You could say they’re divas in their own right.
McFadden: You’re used to being the only diva on the premises.
Madonna: Well, like in the square footage.
McFadden: Well, in the recording studio?
Madonna: Yeah.
McFadden: Well what was it like to sit down and write with these guys who are divas of their own?
Madonna: Well, we all had our hiccups where we jockeyed for positions and we tried to get to know each other because song writing is a very intimate experience. I would say there were a few uncomfortable moments.
Madonna: But with Pharell, he actually made me cry. I’ve never told anyone that before. There. Out with it. Headlines [gesturing].
McFadden: Why did he make you cry?
Madonna: I don’t know. I think I was just having a bad day. You know when you’re not fine. You know sometimes when you just burst into tears for no reason?
McFadden: In front of him?
Madonna: I did right there in front of him.

On Adoption and her son David, whom she spotted in the arms of a young girl at an orphanage:
McFadden: Is that when you fell in love?
Madonna: The first time that I saw him [David], she was carrying him. And that was the moment when it all rack focused for me. ‘Oh my God, she’s 8 and she’s taking care of a six month old child and so first I was drawn to her. Where does she get her strength from? And then I was drawn to him and I started carrying him around for her. When I came back the next time, that’s when he was ill and that’s when I really knew that I had a connection to him.

On discovering Malawi:
Madonna: Well, I went to Malawi thinking I am going to save these people. I’m gonna build orphan care centers and come to their rescue. And I am going to do what I should be doing, sharing my experience, sharing my wealth with people who don’t. And I went there thinking well I don’t and we don’t. Because I don’t have that joy, that appreciation. I do in moments but not on a regular basis. I’ve never seen so much sort of tangible suffering, but I’ve never experienced so much joy and openness.

Madonna Raised $1.5 Million at amfAR Gala at Cannes

Madonna and Guy Richie at amfAR fundraiser gala

Madonna and husband Guy Richie attended the amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS fundraiser at the Cannes Film Festival held by Sharon Stone on Thursday.

During the event Madonna wore a salmon colored satin secretarial shirt dress from Christian Dior.

Madonna auctioned her Karl Lagerfeld diamond encrusted custom-designed handbag, that included her lip balm, lip gloss, compact mirror, hair clips, lozenges and even her face blotting paper.

She blotted her face and body on stage, gave it to Stone, who also blotted herself and said, “There’s a lot of DNA there now. In case there’s a murder you’ll have the evidence.”

The purse and all the items inside brought in about $1.5 million to the fundraiser.

Madonna also put up one of her guitars for auction and a prize of winning her sing two songs in private to the winner before a concert this fall while she’s on tour.

The songs also helped bring in money with the original bid being at about $500,000, to which Madonna joked, “I’m worth more than that! People have asked me to play at their bar mitzvahs!”

The songs ended up selling for a bit over $600,000 which caused Madonna to lean into the mic and say, “Don’t humiliate me.”

As for her white acoustic guitar, it was purchased by a young Russian man for almost $600,000. The guy later said he’d give it back to Madonna so she could have an orphan in Malawi learn to play it.

With contribution from Madonna’s that raised $1.5 million and also contribution from other notable celebrities, Sharon Stone was able to raise $10 million for amfAR this year.

Madonna May Finally Adopt David

Madonna David Banda

Madonna may finally adopt Malawian David Banda after David’s biological father spoke out in favor of the singer’s adoption.

He recently told Reuters in a TV interview, “I have no problem with the government’s recommendation to allow Madonna to get the child. This is what I wanted, that Madonna should keep the child.”

At the same time he stated that he would love to see David while Madonna is in the country this week to finalize the adoption and every few years so he could see the boy’s development.

In addition to that, the Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC), the strongest critics to Madonna’s adoption said on Monday it was no longer interested in pursuing the case.

Money seem to have solved all the problem now.

“It will be as a waste of time and resources to continue pursuing the case. Malawi has more pressing issues than Madonna,” HRCC chairman Udule Mwakasungura told Reuters.

Madonna is scheduled to appear in a Malawian court next week after her supposed appearance in court today was delayed due to personal reason!

Madonna Kiss Paris

Madonna puts on a display during her gig at Olympia Theater in Paris when she kisses one of her backup dancers during her gig on Tuesday.

Madonna says ‘I love to french the French’ at the gig before going on to kiss the dancer.

“Why do I have this relationship with France? I’m always drawn to working with French people — and frenching French people,” she quipped. “Vive la France!”

This is not the first time Madonna does her girl-on-girl action in front of a massive crowd. Madonna was last seen locking lips with Britney and Christina during their VMA’s opening performance in 2003.

Do you think that’s sexy or nasty?
