Dennis Quaid’s Healthy Twins Sighted at SoHo

Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly was sighted with their healthy 3-month-old twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace at SoHo, New York City.

He referred his twins’ near-fatal overdose shortly after they were born last November as a “very happy ending” during his recent appearance on Late Show with David Letterman to promote his latest movie Vantage Point.

“Things went wrong, very wrong there for a couple of weeks with them but everything’s good now. We have a very happy ending. The second worst thing that can happen to parents, but it had a really good ending.”

We’re really happy that those babies are okay now.

Dennis Quaid Sues Drug Company After Overdose Incident

Dennis Quaid and his wife, Kimberly have filed suit against Baxter Healthcare Corp., the makers of the drug Heparin on Tuesday after the massive overdose incident on their newborn twins.

The couple’s newborn twins Zoe Grace and Thomas Boone were mistakenly given a massive overdose of the anti-coagulant drug last month while hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. The Quaid’s attorney says the twins “were very critical for a while,” but appear to have recovered and “everything looks good.”

Quaid’s attorney said they filed suit because they want to prevent this from happening to any other children. The suit claims the Baxter is liable and negligent because the packaging of the 10 unit vial of Heparin looks almost exactly as the 10,000-units-per-milliliter vial of the drug.

Three children died in Indiana from a similar mix-up with the drug. More would have.

Quiad have yet to sue the Cedars, the hospital where her wife delivered their twin baby who should be responsible for the incident as well.

Baxter issued a news release outlining the company’s new “drug safety initiative” that promises to change the labeling of Heparin vials when they learn about the lawsuit.

As we’re sorry for such incident to happen on Quiad newborn twins, at the same time being really thankful for the publicity placed into this due to Quiad celebrity status, otherwise, more would have to die before something is done.

Dennis Quaid’s Twins Troubled By Medical Error

Parent Trap actor Dennis Quaid who played a father to the twins in the movie, was supposed to be overjoyed with his newborn twins with his wife, Kimberly Buffington.

Instead, the couple is now really worried as their twins were fighting for their life as were accidentally given a massive dose of Heparin, an anti-coagulant on Sunday. The drug is used to flush out IV lines and prevent blood clots.

The accidental overdose then caused the twins to bleed out on Sunday night. The babies were then given Protamine, which reverses the effects of Heparin.

Apparently, a technician stored the Heparin in the wrong place so when the nurse grabbed the medicine for the babies without looking it was the wrong dosage.

Dennis Quaid rep said, “Dennis and Kimberly appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and hope they can maintain their privacy during this difficult time.”

The twins were born to Quaid and wife Kimberly Buffington November 8 via surrogate.

The two-week-old twins of actor Dennis Quaid were reported to be recovering in a Los Angeles hospital today after mistakenly being given a massive overdose of a blood thinning drug.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of the United States’ leading hospitals, apologized on Wednesday for what it called the “preventable error” that led to the twins and another unidentified child being given 10,000 units of the anti-coagulant Heparin, instead of the normal 10 units given to babies.
