Ledger’s Family To Pay Tribute To Son

Heath Ledger’s family traveled a long way to come to New York for the premiere of ‘The Dark Knight’ to pay tribute to the Australian actor.
Heath’s dad Kim with his wife Ines, mother Sally Bell and sister Kate were all there to watch the latest in the Batman series and the last film Ledger completed, reported Daily Mail.
Michael Cane talked about Ledger, ” But when we were sitting down between takes, he was completely ordinary. He wasn’t preparing himself or saying ‘Please leave me alone, I’ve gotta do this.”
“We would sit and chat and have a cup of coffee, then suddenly they’d say, ‘We’re ready, Heath,’ and he’d go straight into The Joker.His energy was astonishing, he’s certainly the best villain I’ve ever seen.”
He added, “My favourite part is the opening monologue of Heath Ledger as The Joker, it’s one of the best close-ups I’ve ever seen in my life.”
He was a young actor and this is his moment. He did Brokeback Mountain which was fine and he never got the Oscar. He’s going to get the Oscar for this.”
Christian Bale, who plays Batman in the film said, “Working with Heath was fantastic. He steals the movie and I’m quite happy to say that.”
“He’s a hell of a talent and created a Joker that’s very iconic and one that will
become a classic portrayal of the ages.”
The verdict on Ledger’s performance:
The Sun: “Ledger seems to have got into the chaotic mind of the comic book character. And terrifying he is. He deserves all the talk of a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.”
Entertainment Weekly: “In this, the last performance he completed before his death, Ledger had a maniacal gusto inspired enough to suggest that he might have lived to be as audacious an actor as Marlon Brando, and maybe as great.”
The Mirror: “Heath Ledger is a dead cert to scoop an Oscar for his chilling portrayal of The Joker. Caked in mascara and with a horrifying maniacal laugh, the late Australian actor is the brilliant heart of a superhero movie that’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before.”
Associated Press: “Nolan was wise enough to give Ledger plenty of room to shine — albeit in the actor’s indelibly perverse, twisted way. There’s nothing cartoony about his Joker.”
Washington Post: “Audiences with high expectations shouldn’t be blamed — once they see Ledger’s mesmerising take on The Joker—for wondering why the whole movie couldn’t just be about him instead.”
Time:”Joker is simply one of the most twisted and mesmerising creeps in movie history. Echoing the sly psychopathy and scary sing-song voice of Anthony Hopkins in The Silence Of The Lambs, Ledger carries in him the deranged there.”

Cane Wants Ledger To Be Nominated For Oscar

Michael Cane thinks that Heath Ledger gave an Oscar worthy performance as the Joker in ‘The Dark Knight’.
The actor told Usmagazine.com, “I just watched him and talked to him for three days and I thought he was extraordinary. I think he’ll get a posthumous Oscar nomination at least.”
The actor, who plays Alfred Pennyworth added, “I didn’t have a scene with him. He was in a scene in the picture which I was in but he never spoke to me in the scene – it was a big party.”
Cane isn’t the only one who praises Ledger’s role. Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers said,”I can only speak superlatives of Ledger, who is mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker.”
Travers added,”If there’s a movement to get him the first posthumous Oscar since Peter Finch won for 1976’s Network, sign me up.”

Cameron Diaz Goes Bald

Cameron Diaz is spotted bald on set of her upcoming movie My Sister’s Keeper where Diaz play the role of a mother who shaves her head in support of her ill daughter.
Howoever, Diaz was actually wearing a fitted bald cap to film to movie rather than shaving her head.
The film based on the book by Jodi Piccoult also features Alec Baldwin and John Cusack.
The movie’s synopsis is as follows:
“Anna (Abigail Breslin) is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister Kate can somehow fight leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate-a life role that she has never challenged . . . until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister-and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for her sister she loves.”
You will have to wait until next year if you want to see Cameron Diaz plays her first mother role (indication that she’s aging).

Rihanna’s Film Debut in “Mama Black Widow”

Rihanna is set to takeover the movie industry after her widespread success in music scene.
The Umbrella hottie has been cast in the film adaption of Iceberg Slim’s book Mama Black Widow as Carol.
The movie’s synopsis is as follows:
“Mama Black Widow is the portrait of a black family’s migration from the southern Mississippi fields of the segregated south to the ghettoized black underworld of Chicago during the 1930’s. The story follows Otis Tilson’s struggle to keep his family together as they navigate through a world of alcoholism, pimping, sexual deviation and racial degradation. Told in the gut level language of the original novel by Iceberg Slim, the family’s journey is a harsh testament of lives lived on the margins of a racist and predatory world.”
Other stars that are joining Rihanna in the cast is Anthony Anderson, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray. Okay what is Macy Gray doing in a movie?

Megan Fox Jennifer’s Body Topless Photos
Megan Fox was recently spotted topless as she strips for a nude scene in her upcoming movie Jennifer’s Body at a lake in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The hot actress who was recently named the FHM Sexiest Woman in the World of 2008 was wearing nothing but panties and a flesh-colored patches over her nipple while going in and out of the lake to film several scene of the movie in the freezing cold weather.
Fortunately Megan was covered in a big warm blanket, as well as a green robe in between takes.
Jennifer’s Body is a supernatural thriller written by Diablo Cody who also wrote Juno . The movie tells the story of a possessed cheerleader (Fox) who seduces guy to get into the forest before killing and eats them.

Sex and The City London Premiere

The Sex and The City: The Movie world premiere took place in Leicester Square, London on Monday night.
Everyone who watches the Sex and The City series knows the show take place in New York City and ironically it’s movie premiere take place in London.
The movie is receiving mixed reviews and the well-respected Times only gave the film a 2 out of 5!
Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out to explain why New York lost out. The actress says, “This is where New Line Cinema decided to do it, so we started here. We are thrilled to be in London and we will be thrilled to take it to America.”
Meanwhile Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda in the film, implied that London premiere was not the main event.
She said: “We’re having a kind of smallish premiere here; we’re having a smallish premiere in Berlin.
“We’re building to the New York premiere which is enormous and happens just before the film opens worldwide.”
The Sex and The City: The Movie will be in the U.S. on May 30.

Ellen Page To Play Jane Eyre

Ellen Page is set to play Jane Eyre in a new adaptation of the Charlotte Bronte novel.
The Canadian actress has agreed to several movies since her career boosting performance role in the widely accepted independent movie Juno was nominated for Oscar.
The movie will be produced by one of the producers of The Other Boleyn Girl.
